About the Role

At Home Helpers Home Care of San Mateo County, finding the right caregivers is an important part of providing dependable, personalized care for our clients.

We are looking for an organized, personable Hiring & Recruiting Coordinator to manage caregiver recruitment and help new hires get off to a strong start. You will communicate with applicants, conduct initial interviews, lead orientations, and work closely with our office and scheduling teams to address current hiring needs.

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys connecting with people, takes initiative, and follows through without letting important details slip.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage caregiver recruitment: Find and connect with candidates, review applications, conduct pre-screenings and initial interviews, and provide timely follow-up throughout the hiring process.
  • Maintain job postings: Create and update postings on Indeed, PreIntent, and local job boards. Tailor recruiting efforts to the geographic areas and caregiver availability our clients need.
  • Lead caregiver orientations: Conduct Zoom orientations from our office using a prepared PowerPoint presentation. Explain next steps, answer questions, and send follow-up emails.
  • Coordinate hiring documentation: Gather required information and ensure hiring and compliance documentation is complete, accurate, and organized.
  • Prepare introductions for scheduling: Create detailed caregiver profiles that clearly communicate each new hire’s experience, skills, availability, and relevant strengths to the scheduling team.
  • Monitor recruiting results: Track recruitment performance metrics, identify where applicants are getting delayed or dropping out, and help improve recruiting and follow-up processes.
  • Stay connected with the office team: Participate in daily stand-up meetings, provide hiring updates, and adjust recruiting priorities based on client needs and input from the scheduling team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Recruiting or hiring coordination experience preferred (but not required). Home care or healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through while managing multiple applicants and priorities.
  • Warm, professional communication skills and confidence conducting interviews and leading virtual orientations.
  • Comfort learning software, maintaining accurate records, and handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently while communicating regularly and collaborating with the in-office team.

Tools You’ll Use

  • Our team uses PreIntent for applicant tracking and WellSky for scheduling and compliance. Communication tools include Zoom, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, and Nextiva phone system. Recruiting platforms include Indeed and local job boards.
  • Training on PreIntent and job boards is available as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

  • This is an hourly, non-exempt position paying 26-$28/hr depending on experience.
  • Benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance after 60 days of employment, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match of up to 4%.
