Explore, experiment, and look to the stars at College of San Mateo’s annual Family Science Day, a San Mateo County tradition since 2006. This free, all-ages event begins with hands-on makerspace projects from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by science workshops, planetarium shows, and firefighter demonstrations from 1 to 5 pm.
The evening program begins at 7 pm in the CSM Theatre. At 7:30 pm, NASA scientist Dr. Brian Day will present “The Active Moon,” exploring new discoveries about the Moon’s geological activity and what they could mean for future human exploration. A reception, rooftop stargazing, and live music will follow.
Family Science Day is sponsored by the San Mateo County Astronomical Society and CSM’s Math/Science Division. Admission is free, and no advance registration is required.
